A leading multi-practice law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Spokane, Washington, office. This role involves handling a variety of defense litigation cases, with a preference for candidates who have experience in employment, torts, real estate, or corporate law. Duties

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and research memorandums
  • Advise clients on legal rights and develop defense strategies
  • Gather evidence, conduct research, and prepare for trial by interviewing clients and witnesses
  • Prepare legal briefs and develop case strategies, arguments, and testimonies
  • Represent clients in court and before administrative agencies
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses
  • Collaborate with colleagues and experts to prepare reports, deposition materials, and trial testimonies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in general defense litigation
  • Experience in tort litigation, class action, labor and employment, and second chair trial work is a plus
  • Ability to bill at least 1800 hours annually

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington; licensure in Oregon and Alaska is a plus

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for analyzing and conveying complex information
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
