A law firm specializing in intellectual property seeks a skilled Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of patent litigation matters, including case strategy, discovery, witness management, and trial preparation.

Duties:

  • Prepare and conduct trials for patent litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and court arguments.
  • Develop and execute case strategy, manage all aspects of discovery, and analyze products and patents for infringement and validity.
  • Work closely with witnesses, including experts and fact witnesses, and conduct and defend depositions and witness examinations.
  • Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and client communications.
  • Research and analyze legal issues related to patent law and litigation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and strategic advice throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • Graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to or eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation in district courts and/or before the International Trade Commission (ITC).
  • Previous experience in handling patent infringement and validity analyses.
  • Proficiency in drafting and preparing motions and briefs related to patent issues.
  • Experience in managing discovery aspects of litigation, including e-discovery.
  • Preferred experience with preparing for, defending, or taking depositions.
  • Preferred experience working with expert and fact witnesses.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
  • Patent Bar membership (preferred but not required).
