Job Overview:

A law firm in Omaha, NE, seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Credit and Impact Finance Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of transactional experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in community development transactions, specifically in utilizing new markets tax credits (NMTCs), historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTCs), and/or renewable energy investment tax credits (RETCs). This role requires expertise in commercial real estate, commercial lending, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on community development transactions involving NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs.
  • Provide legal support and guidance on commercial real estate transactions.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating financing agreements for community development projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements about tax credits and impact finance transactions.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting community development projects.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of transactional experience.
  • Strong interest in community development transactions utilizing NMTCs, HTCs, and/or RETCs.
  • Experience with NMTCs, HTCs, and RETCs is helpful.
  • Commercial real estate experience, commercial lending experience, structured finance, and/or general federal income tax experience.
  • Active license to practice law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law.
