A law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join their Raleigh, NC office. The ideal candidate will work directly with the firm’s growing individual, family, and employment-based clientele, focusing on visa applications, green card filings, naturalization processes, and removal proceedings in immigration court. This role requires collaboration with Partners, Lead Attorneys, and support staff to manage a diverse range of immigration cases, including deportation defense and family-based immigration matters. The successful candidate will be well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the preparation and submission of visa applications, green card filings, and naturalization documents.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before immigration court.
  • Collaborate with Partners, Lead Attorneys, and support staff on complex immigration cases.
  • Provide legal counsel on deportation defense and family-based immigration matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and petitions.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to gather information, provide updates, and discuss case strategies.
  • Develop and implement effective case strategies to meet client objectives.
  • Attend court hearings, interviews, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Stay current with changes in immigration law and procedures to ensure compliance and provide accurate legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Prior experience in immigration law, especially in deportation defense and family-based immigration, is preferred.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (or foreign equivalency).
  • Bar Admission: Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing with a State Bar association.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish or another foreign language is preferred.
