Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Natural Resources Associate Attorney to join its growing legal team in Denver. The successful candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in environmental law, particularly in areas related to natural resources. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex legal matters in water rights, hazardous waste, oil and gas, mining, and public lands, among others, while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, and transactions related to natural resource law.
• Advise clients on issues concerning water quality, water rights, hazardous waste, mining, oil and gas, public lands, and air quality.
• Handle legal matters involving NEPA, ESA, CAA, CWA, and other natural resource regulations.
• Participate in BLM leasing, USFS permitting, and other related proceedings.
• Contribute to industry-specific legal matters, including energy, infrastructure development, and agency rulemaking.
• Draft legal documents, including memoranda, pleadings, and court filings.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic legal advice and actionable solutions.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in a general environmental law practice.
• Strong background in natural resources law, with experience in the areas of NEPA, ESA, CAA, CWA, and water rights.
• Experience with public lands, energy infrastructure, and regulatory proceedings is preferred.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive attitude and a strong work ethic.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Colorado Bar is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Expertise in regulatory compliance and environmental law.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, real-world solutions.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
