Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a highly qualified Institutional Response Group Attorney to join its practice. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a premier team specializing in Title IX and civil rights. The attorney will work with diverse institutions to address issues related to sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, protected class discrimination, child or elder abuse, and other institutional or regulatory compliance concerns.

Duties:

  • Conduct investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or civil rights and criminal laws addressing harassment, discrimination, or abuse.
  • Assist institutions in implementing trauma-informed, fair, and impartial prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop written policies, procedures, and educational materials for institutional compliance.
  • Provide advisory services for compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and related regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with colleges, universities, K-12 institutions, corporations, and other entities to enhance institutional response systems.
  • Support the design and implementation of effective governance, systems design, and infrastructure for safety and security.
  • Ensure effective communication and training on compliance-related topics to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in conducting investigations or providing advisory services under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related civil rights frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement prevention, resolution, and compliance processes.
  • Availability for travel as required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active licensure to practice law in the state of California.
