A law firm seeks a skilled Senior Trial Attorney to join its Anaheim team, focusing on high-stakes product liability litigation. This role requires a highly experienced litigator who can independently manage cases, collaborate with expert witnesses, and leverage advanced technology and litigation support. The ideal candidate will have substantial trial experience and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of complex litigation cases
  • Supervise associates, paralegals, and support staff within trial teams
  • Act as first or second chair in jury trials, taking a lead role in case presentation
  • Conduct and defend depositions, and participate in mediations
  • Develop case strategy and prepare for hearings in both state and federal courts
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses, including managing communications and preparation
  • Draft legal motions, trial pleadings, jury instructions, and trial briefs
  • Engage in strategic planning to ensure effective case outcomes
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and manage discovery processes
  • Oversee document production and draft responses for meet-and-confer letters
  • Maintain ongoing communication with opposing counsel and clients

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years practicing law, with at least 5 years in trial or litigation roles
  • Licensure: Active license to practice law and state bar membership
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant legal research tools
  • Trial Experience: Proven first and second-chair experience in jury trials; extensive deposition and mediation experience

Education

  • Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Bar Admission: Active member of the state bar
