Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both onsite and remotely, with in-office presence required Monday through Wednesday. The position involves managing a diverse litigation portfolio covering commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and employment cases. Duties:

• Manage litigation across commercial, regulatory, and employment law matters from initial pleadings through final resolution.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft comprehensive motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Interview witnesses, conduct fact investigations, and prepare evidence for hearings and trials.
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings, serving as first or second chair as needed.
• Advise internal stakeholders on risk management, business decisions, and legal obligations across a spectrum of legal issues including:
  • Contract and tort matters
  • Intellectual property and brand protection
  • Food and beverage regulatory compliance
  • Labor and employment matters
• Collaborate with clients to offer practical and business-friendly legal solutions, thinking creatively to resolve issues while protecting legal interests.

Requirements:

• 3 to 6 years of hands-on litigation experience, ideally gained at a well-regarded law firm or corporate legal department.
• Background handling cases related to commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, employment disputes, or similar practice areas.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently and handle all phases of litigation.
• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus, though not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (required).

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and client communications.
• Excellent legal research capabilities using traditional and online resources.
• Confident oral advocacy, both in court and during negotiations.
• Ability to explain complex legal issues in plain language to business clients.
