Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 5 years of Texas state court litigation experience, particularly in construction, real estate, or commercial litigation. This role involves managing all aspects of assigned cases, including both litigation and transactional work. The position is ideal for a self-starter with strong research, writing, and trial experience who is passionate about practicing law. The role offers flexibility for remote work as well as in-office presence.

Location:

  • The Woodlands, TX 

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and conducting discovery and depositions
  • Attend and argue cases in hearings and trials
  • Draft and negotiate real estate and construction transaction documents
  • Advise clients on construction law, real estate transactions, and commercial litigation matters
  • Manage first-party insurance claims related to construction and real estate disputes, if applicable
  • Collaborate on business development activities, including client marketing and potential case joint ventures

Requirements:

  • Active bar membership with the State Bar of Texas
  • Minimum of 5 years of Texas state court litigation experience
  • Familiarity with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Proven experience with trial and arbitration processes
  • Proficient in legal research using Lexis

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Texas Bar membership in good standing

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Hands-on experience with depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines
