Associate Attorney needed for Purchase office

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with litigation experience to join its Purchase, NY office. This role involves managing a caseload within a multistate insurance defense practice, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. Duties:

• Manage a personal caseload with guidance from senior partners.
• Draft and file motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and mediations.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Participate in trial preparation and attend trials as needed.
• Consult with expert witnesses and attend site inspections.

Requirements:

• Admitted to the New York Bar (Connecticut admission is a plus but not required).
• 1-5 years of experience in general liability or professional liability defense.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in complex construction claims or defending architects and engineers is beneficial.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active New York Bar membership in good standing.
