Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is looking for an experienced Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney to join their Transactions and Development practice group. This full-time, partnership-track position is ideal for candidates with a background in corporate, project, and structured finance, particularly within the energy and infrastructure sectors across Latin America and the Caribbean. The role offers a dynamic environment for an attorney ready to take on significant responsibility, demonstrate leadership potential, and work independently with clients and colleagues.

Duties:

• Represent clients in a wide array of energy and infrastructure projects, focusing on development finance institutions.
• Handle corporate, project, and structured finance matters, with a focus on Latin American and Caribbean energy sectors.
• Manage transactions from inception to completion, providing expert legal guidance to clients.
• Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and clients, maintaining open and effective communication.
• Develop strategies to address legal issues within the energy and infrastructure landscape.
• Supervise junior associates and assist in the mentorship of developing talent within the firm.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards while delivering exceptional legal services.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in bank finance, with a focus on energy, infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
• Experience working with development finance institutions and handling complex transactions.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with clients and team members.
• Strong initiative, leadership potential, and a track record of independent client management.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Ability to obtain licensure in the jurisdiction of employment within one year of joining.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active FL Bar membership (or the ability to obtain within one year).

Skills:

• Expertise in corporate, project, and structured finance.
• Strong command of legal principles related to energy and infrastructure projects.
• Excellent bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish); Portuguese is a plus.
• Ability to manage complex transactions and work with senior leadership and clients.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Initiative to lead and mentor junior attorneys.
