Job Overview:
An established, multi-state law firm is seeking a qualified associate attorney to join its Illinois-based practice, specializing in creditors' rights and real estate law. The ideal candidate will handle a significant caseload, focusing on litigation, discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage a significant volume of cases related to creditors' rights and real estate law.
  • Resolve issues in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, with travel as needed.
  • Provide support for appellate matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues to support the firm's growth.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality legal representation and client service.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • Newly licensed attorneys are welcome to apply, though 5+ years of litigation experience is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to manage a high volume of cases in creditors' rights law.
  • Familiarity with discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively build relationships and contribute to the firm’s growth.
  • Familiarity with the Illinois legal system and a commitment to providing superior client support.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Illinois State Bar is required.
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus.
