Job Title: Subrogation/Civil Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Fullerton, CA is seeking an experienced Subrogation/Civil Attorney to join their team. Duties:

  • Represent insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers in subrogation matters.
  • Prepare correspondence for clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
  • Draft legal pleadings, motions, and mediation briefs.
  • Attend court appearances, settlement conferences, and mediations.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties and witnesses, including expert depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements for subrogation claims.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery on subrogation cases.
  • Manage cases proactively, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Mentor and oversee legal assistants.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Attend marketing events for new and existing clients.
  • Maintain client files, enter billable hours, and use PracticeMaster to track case details.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines for client communication, statute of limitations, and discovery responses.
  • Conduct client file reviews and provide seminars on subrogation case law.
  • Stay current on California civil procedure, Rules of Court, and workers' compensation case law related to subrogation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Demonstrated ability in legal research, analysis, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to managing cases proactively and efficiently.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (JD) required.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:
