Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a seasoned Personal Injury Attorney licensed in New Jersey, with a minimum of five years of experience handling personal injury cases. The attorney will manage a variety of cases, including auto accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, and other personal injury matters, from intake through to verdict or settlement. Ideal candidates will be passionate advocates, collaborating effectively with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure client satisfaction and case success. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with clients to understand their legal needs, provide guidance, and develop case strategies.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 150 cases, overseeing all aspects from intake to resolution.
  • Draft, prepare, and file all necessary legal documents for each case.
  • Conduct and administer depositions and oral hearings with witnesses and experts.
  • Regularly attend court appearances, hearings, and conferences based on case requirements.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to prepare comprehensive briefs for trial.
  • Supervise and mentor two paralegals.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and resolve property damage claims on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professional ethics in all case dealings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
  • Active license to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Proven ability to negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in complex personal injury cases.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Experienced trial attorney with a track record of managing cases to successful outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active New Jersey Bar License.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Smart Advocate).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented, with strong ethical standards.
