Job Overview:
A law firm based in Baltimore, MD, is looking for a dedicated Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney with a focus on civil litigation, particularly representing survivors of traumatic events. This position offers the opportunity to manage cases independently and contribute meaningfully to clients' journeys toward justice. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in all phases of litigation, including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, responding to discovery, and handling trials.

Duties:

• Handle various aspects of civil litigation, including drafting complaints, motions, and responses to discovery requests
• Conduct and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
• Independently manage a caseload, progressing through all stages of litigation
• Develop legal strategies and represent clients in legal proceedings
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to prepare cases for trial and settlement negotiations
• Research and analyze case law, statutes, and legal principles
• Prepare and file pleadings and other legal documents with courts
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations affecting casework

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation
• Proven experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury or other civil matters (preferred)
• Strong understanding of litigation processes and courtroom procedures
• Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A passion for helping survivors of traumatic events

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland
