A prestigious law firm located in San Diego, CA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its General Liability/Professional Liability practice. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in defending professionals, including design and miscellaneous professionals, in litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in discovery, law, and motion practice, and excellent writing and oral advocacy skills. The firm is looking for a motivated self-starter ready to handle multiple clients and contribute to its growth and success.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategies to clients, helping them navigate complex legal issues and determine the best course of action.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings while conducting legal research.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, contracts, briefs, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, partners, paralegals, and staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain organized case files, ensuring the most current information is accessible to relevant team members.
  • Work with clients to understand their legal needs and provide timely and effective legal solutions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in general liability and professional liability litigation, particularly involving design and miscellaneous professionals.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with an ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of legal professionals and clients.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple clients and cases.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle various aspects of litigation.
  • Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Active involvement in professional legal organizations such as the ABA is preferred.
  • Must have passed the Bar exam and hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member of the State Bar of California in good standing.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with legal software and case management systems.
