Job Overview:
A well-established multi-state law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to support its Missouri practice, specializing in creditors' rights, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and consumer collections. Location:

  • Tampa, FL

Duties:

  • Handle a significant caseload within the creditors' rights practice, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and consumer collections
  • Manage discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Participate in court appearances, with potential travel for in-person hearings
  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients and colleagues, establishing trust as a valued advisor
  • Assist with business development to help grow the firm’s presence
  • Lead and mentor junior associates, contributing to the firm's collaborative culture
  • Provide superior client support and demonstrate sound judgment in all matters
  • Stay up to date on relevant legal issues, including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing of the Missouri State Bar
  • Licensure in Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts (or ability to obtain in short order)
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience preferred, though newly licensed attorneys will also be considered
  • Experience in discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution
  • Appellate experience and knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred
  • Ability to handle a significant volume of cases efficiently
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness to assist in growing the firm’s presence and reputation in the industry

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar (required)
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus
