This role focuses on a wide range of legal areas including Federal Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination, 42 U.S.C. 1983, Criminal Defense, and Personal Injury. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in both litigation processes and civil rights law, with a strong ability to represent clients and engage in courtroom activities.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in federal civil rights cases, criminal defense, and personal injury matters.
  • Draft and file complaints, motions, and responses, particularly related to civil summary judgment motions.
  • Engage with clients for intake, provide legal advice, and communicate effectively about case progress.
  • Prepare and respond to federal civil discovery demands.
  • Assist with case strategy, legal research, and writing.
  • Present court cases, gaining trial experience, and refining advocacy skills.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and achieve case goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in civil litigation, especially in federal civil rights and criminal defense matters.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Federal Rules of Evidence, and Civil Procedure Law.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and case preparation.
  • Ability to engage with clients, provide legal advice, and maintain professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Trial experience is beneficial but not required. A strong desire to gain trial experience is essential.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
