A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of diversified transactional tax experience. The successful candidate should have a strong background in partnership, real estate, and/or corporate tax matters. Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Experience with Am Law 200 firms is preferred, and a high level of academic achievement is expected. An LL.M. in tax law is advantageous. Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Duties:

  • Provide expert tax advice on partnership, real estate, and corporate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate tax-related documents, including opinions, memoranda, and agreements.
  • Develop and implement tax planning and compliance strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and case law.
  • Collaborate with clients and other legal professionals to resolve complex tax issues.
  • Represent clients in interactions and negotiations with tax authorities.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and evaluate their impact on clients.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of diversified transactional tax experience.
  • Experience in partnership, real estate, and/or corporate tax matters.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Am Law 200 law firms preferred.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • An LL.M. in tax law is helpful.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • An LL.M. in tax law is preferred but not required.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
