A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level or senior Commercial Litigation Associate to join its California offices. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator with 4-8 years of complex litigation experience to handle high-stakes cases in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The firm offers a dynamic practice that includes litigation from inception through trials and appeals, with exposure to sophisticated legal matters, including insurance litigation. Ideal candidates will have a strong analytical ability, excellent writing skills, and a proven track record of success in commercial litigation.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Handle all aspects of commercial litigation, from case inception to trial and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda to support complex legal matters.
  • Prepare detailed case analyses, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Manage discovery processes, including document production, written discovery, and depositions.
  • Work with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Participate in court proceedings and depositions.
  • Collaborate with other associates, partners, and clients on complex litigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of experience in complex litigation, with a focus on commercial disputes.
  • Experience in insurance litigation is preferred.
  • Proven ability to conduct legal research, draft comprehensive legal documents, and manage litigation cases independently.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills and courtroom experience preferred.
  • Experience with depositions and case management is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and adversaries in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and business development skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, legal analysis, and research abilities.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Experience in deposition and courtroom advocacy.
