Job Overview

A prestigious law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Attorney to join its Private Wealth Services practice group. This role involves working with high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and closely-held businesses, focusing on complex estate planning, wealth preservation, and tax matters. Duties

  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills and trusts for domestic and international clients.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on tax, probate, trust administration, and private wealth matters.

  • Assist in estate and trust administration, including probate filings and asset transfers.

  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of wealth preservation strategies.

  • Prepare gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax returns.

  • Stay informed on changes in tax laws, estate planning strategies, and industry developments.

  • Collaborate with the Private Wealth Services team to provide high-quality legal services.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in estate planning, tax, or a related field.

  • Florida Bar admission or willingness to obtain it promptly.

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues and clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or JD/LL.M. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Florida Bar admission is required (or must be obtained promptly).

Preferred Qualifications

  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus but not required.

  • Demonstrated interest in private wealth services, estate planning, or tax law through coursework, internships, or prior experience.
