Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a Junior to Midlevel Associate with 1-5 years of intellectual property (IP) litigation experience to join its Intellectual Property Disputes practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with experience in handling complex IP litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile cases while gaining exposure to all aspects of IP disputes, from pre-litigation strategy to trial.

Location:

Duties:

  • Handle complex IP disputes, including patent infringement, trademark, and trade secret cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Assist in managing the discovery process and develop document review strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on IP-related issues.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel to clients.
  • Participate in client meetings and help drive case outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting marketing initiatives and client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation at a large law firm or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical background in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Active bar membership in the state where applying.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar where applying.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of intellectual property law, particularly in patent and trademark litigation.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and drafting skills.
  • Familiarity with IP litigation tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
