A prestigious law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Attorney with 4+ years of experience to join its established real estate legal team. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions, including commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings. This position provides a dynamic environment to handle challenging legal matters and collaborate with both colleagues and clients, without the pressure of partnership tracking.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate transaction documents such as purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and financing documents.
  • Provide counsel on complex real estate matters while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience practicing real estate law.
  • Extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and drafting skills.
  • Prior experience in joint ventures is an added advantage.

  • Active membership in DC Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission required (Washington, DC, or eligible for admission).

Skills:

  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Client-focused with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.

Job Location:

  • Washington, DC

This large DC firm is known as a place that offers a broad and sophisticated practice, while also being very family friendly. Although salaries are slightly less than competitor firms as associates become more senior, this is reflected in the lower billable hour requirement, which seems to be welcomed by associates that seem to value a more balanced work and personal life. We hear that associates are treated with respect, the culture is exceptionally diverse and progressive, and pro bono work is valued beyond mere lip service.
