Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a passionate and driven Immigration Attorney with experience in USCIS and removals to join their team. The attorney will be responsible for representing clients in immigration matters, including working with government agencies, handling complex legal cases, and offering expert advice. This is a full-time role based in Sherman Oaks, California.

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation to individuals on immigration matters, including representation before U.S. immigration courts, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and other relevant government agencies.
  • Conduct thorough consultations with clients as required.
  • Assist clients in preparing for interviews with USCIS, U.S. immigration courts, and U.S. state courts.
  • Analyze case outcomes and legal strategy, considering legal precedents, rulings, and regulations.
  • Manage large caseloads, meet deadlines, and oversee case preparation.
  • Guide and supervise paralegals in managing case progress and client communication.
  • Review paralegal work, including recordkeeping and document preparation.
  • Draft legal cover letters, memorandums, briefs, and opinions.
  • Prepare and file appeals before administrative and federal courts.
  • Keep clients informed of case progress through various forms of communication.
  • Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS, and other related entities.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
  • Participate in outreach and case acceptance meetings.
  • Provide documentation and statistical reports as required.
  • Participate in training and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience as an Immigration Attorney.
  • Strong understanding of legal language, court procedures, and immigration-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Gsuite, or related software.
  • Ability to travel and attend USCIS interviews.
  • Ability to function in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and judgment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the California State Bar.
