Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Ontario, CA, specializing in workers' compensation defense, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. The firm handles a wide range of complex cases for a diverse client base, including notable national companies and professional sports teams.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense cases, from initial case assessments to resolution.
  • Perform thorough legal research and analysis to build case strategies.
  • Draft and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and legal advice.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all client interactions.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in workers’ compensation or insurance defense is preferred.
  • Open to all levels of experience, including recent law school graduates.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Current California State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in workers' compensation law and/or insurance defense.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research and case management software.
