Duties

• Represent individuals in immigration-related matters, including removal proceedings in Immigration Court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on a range of immigration issues, including removal defense, family-based immigration, and humanitarian relief.
• Oversee a full caseload, from intake to case resolution, ensuring timely and effective client service.
• Conduct intakes with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
• Prepare and review immigration petitions, applications, and legal documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Work closely with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on updates and changes to immigration law.
• Lead consultations with potential clients to devise customized immigration strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before the USCIS and in court proceedings.
• Draft and file legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.
• Ensure clients are informed about their case status and provide timely updates as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law, with a strong background in family-based petitions, removal defense, detained cases, humanitarian relief, and USCIS applications.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward in a timely and effective manner.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in California.
