A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in corporate and/or tax transactional matters to join its Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Group. This unique practice area offers the opportunity to work with mission-driven nonprofit clients and organizations focused on making a positive impact in their communities. The role involves advising clients on corporate governance, tax compliance, and mission-related investments, among other responsibilities.

Duties:

  • Draft organizational documents and policies for nonprofit and exempt organizations.
  • Advise clients on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide legal counsel on tax compliance issues for nonprofit organizations.
  • Review and negotiate contractual matters related to impact investments.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on mission-related investments and tax matters.
  • Assist in structuring and reviewing mission-driven and impact-focused investment strategies.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in corporate and/or tax transactional matters.
  • Experience advising or working with nonprofit organizations is preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and transition between various projects.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in good standing.
