Associate Attorney and Business Consultant

A law firm based in Memphis, TN, seeks a motivated and versatile Associate Attorney and Business Consultant to join its dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of legal and business consulting activities, contributing to high-level corporate transactions and strategic planning. Responsibilities

The Associate Attorney and Business Consultant will:

• Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance in corporate law, including financial institution compliance, corporate taxation, and organizational structuring.
• Oversee complex business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, equity buybacks, and other strategic corporate initiatives.
• Collaborate on the design, implementation, and management of employee benefit programs to meet regulatory and business objectives.
• Offer comprehensive insights on financial planning and corporate growth strategies to enhance client outcomes.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, legal research, and contract drafting for diverse client portfolios across industries and regions.
• Ensure all work complies with current laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards, particularly in highly regulated industries.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing or eligibility for bar licensure in Tennessee.
• A strong foundation in finance, accounting, and/or banking is highly desirable.
• 1–6 years of professional experience in corporate law or a related legal practice.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with financial institution regulatory frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with corporate strategic planning, including tax planning and structuring.
• Prior involvement in managing large-scale business transactions.
