Mid-level Associate needed for New York office

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified mid-level associate to join its Corporate Commodities and Derivatives Regulation and Enforcement Practice. This role involves a mix of transactional commodities, futures, and derivatives matters. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience working with investment managers, financial institutions, and emerging companies. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic range of regulations such as Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC, as well as derivatives transactions involving commodities, IRS, FX, credit derivatives, and crypto trading.

Duties:

• Handle a variety of transactional matters involving commodities, futures, and derivatives
• Advise clients on Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC regulations
• Work with financial institutions, investment managers, and emerging companies
• Assist with derivatives transactions related to commodities, IRS, FX, credit derivatives, and fintech/crypto trading
• Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to deliver high-quality legal services to clients

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commodities, futures, and derivatives law
• Strong understanding of Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC regulations
• Experience with transactional commodities, IRS, FX, and credit derivatives
• Ability to work with financial institutions and emerging companies in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction

Skills:

• Expertise in transactional commodities, futures, and derivatives matters
• In-depth knowledge of Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and SEC regulations
• Strong communication and drafting skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Expertise in fintech and crypto trading law a plus
