Job Overview:

A law firm in Sacramento, CA, seeks a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to manage litigation cases from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will handle pre-litigation and litigation matters, develop and execute legal strategies, and represent clients in various legal proceedings. This role requires strong communication skills, a real estate and foreclosure law background, and the ability to handle a significant caseload with precision and efficiency.

Duties:

  • Manage litigation cases from inception to resolution, including pre-litigation matters and clearing title to real property.
  • Develop, seek approval for, and manage budgets and legal strategies.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare a detailed analysis of risks, exposures, and strategies.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Oversee all aspects of discovery, including document production, depositions, and interrogatories.
  • Collaborate with supervising partners and clients to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Communicate directly with clients to keep them informed and engaged in their cases.
  • Attend and represent the firm at court hearings, mediation sessions, settlement conferences, and other proceedings, whether telephonic, via video, or in person.
  • Assist with bankruptcy motions, hearings, and adversary proceedings as needed.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California; maintenance of all necessary licensing and MCLE requirements is required. Additional licensure in the firm's other footprint states is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, preferably with knowledge of foreclosure, real estate, secured transactions, and creditor’s rights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in software tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Ability to meet an annual hourly billing requirement of 1920 hours.
