This position involves representing clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges, with hearings comprising approximately half to two-thirds of the workload. Duties and qualifications include:

Job Overview: Join a Social Security Disability law firm to represent clients in hearings, answer client inquiries, review and develop pre-hearing and hearing level cases, conduct legal research, write pre-hearing brief memorandums and draft appeals council briefs.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges.
  • Answer client questions and inquiries.
  • Review and develop pre-hearing and hearing-level cases.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Write pre-hearing brief memorandums.
  • Draft appeals council briefs.
  • Regular client contact via telephone, in person, mail, and email.

Requirements:

  • Attorney License.
  • Reliability and Dependability.
  • Eagerness to Learn and Make a Difference.
  • Strong Communication Skills, Both Oral and Written.
  • Excellent Legal Writing Skills.
  • Ability to Travel to and from Hearings in Other Cities and States Up to 70% of the Time.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Social Security Disability Law is preferred.
