Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Greenville, SC, is seeking an experienced Healthcare Reimbursement Attorney to join its growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide legal counsel to a diverse set of clients in the healthcare industry, including hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers, while ensuring compliance with complex healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in advising on billing, reimbursement, and federal fraud laws.

Duties:

  • Advise healthcare providers, including hospitals, physicians, and medical centers, on compliance with healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations.
  • Provide guidance on Medicare, Medicaid, VA/Tricare, and private payor billing and reimbursement requirements.
  • Interpret and advise on federal healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and False Claims Act.
  • Assist clients in structuring business relationships to ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Support clients with enrollment and claims submission processes to mitigate the risk of regulatory violations.
  • Offer strategic counsel on policy developments, healthcare reform, and reimbursement changes.
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and audits related to healthcare reimbursement practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience advising clients or engaging in policymaking related to healthcare reimbursement and billing.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and VA/Tricare programs.
  • In-depth understanding of federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, and the False Claims Act.
  • Experience in healthcare regulatory compliance and working with healthcare providers in a legal capacity.
  • Ability to navigate complex healthcare reimbursement issues, including private payors.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar membership in good standing in SC.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with healthcare providers, including hospitals, physician practices, home health agencies, and skilled nursing facilities.
