A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its Montclair, NJ office in a hybrid role focused on labor and employment law. The successful candidate will engage in litigation and provide legal counsel on a variety of employment-related issues, including discrimination, harassment, and wage disputes.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of labor and employment law cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
  • Draft legal motions, pleadings, and other necessary documentation.
  • Represent clients in litigation before state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York.
  • Advise corporate clients and Human Resources personnel on employment practices and compliance.
  • Assist in drafting employment manuals and handbooks, as well as developing training materials.
  • Implement complaint procedures to minimize litigation risks.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in New Jersey and/or New York.
  • 1-3 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong understanding of employment litigation and relevant laws.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in New Jersey and/or New York.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Attention to detail with the capacity to draft motions effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
