Real Estate Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a Real Estate Litigation Associate to join its San Diego office. This position offers the opportunity to work in both residential and commercial real estate litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience handling motion practice, depositions, and managing cases from inception to resolution. Candidates with a background in landlord/tenant disputes and fair housing defense are encouraged to apply. This role offers a flexible work arrangement, including the ability to work remotely up to two days per week.

Duties

• Manage and litigate a variety of real estate disputes, including commercial and residential cases.
• Handle motion practice and take depositions in both commercial and residential matters.
• Provide legal counsel in landlord/tenant issues and fair housing defense.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure efficient case management.
• Collaborate with team members and senior attorneys to strategize and resolve complex cases.
• Provide clients with clear, timely updates and legal advice regarding their real estate matters.

Requirements

• 2-6 years of experience in real estate litigation.
• Experience in both commercial and residential real estate litigation is required.
• Familiarity with landlord/tenant disputes and fair housing defense is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a solid work ethic are essential.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
