A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 3-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law to join its growing team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have expertise in estate planning, estate, and trust administration, with strong knowledge of Florida state and federal tax laws. Experience in creating tax-efficient strategies for wealth transfer, business succession, and asset protection is highly valued. Candidates should also be familiar with managing estate and trust matters both within and outside of the Florida court system.

Duties:

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate and trust planning matters, including tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies
  • Assist clients with business succession planning, asset protection, and family wealth management
  • Guide estate and trust administration, navigate Florida’s legal system, and ensure compliance with tax laws
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Work closely with clients to develop customized solutions for their estate planning needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and outside professionals to ensure holistic estate plans and tax strategies
  • Participate in matters involving tax and succession planning, as well as issues related to fiduciaries and family offices

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on tax and succession planning
  • Strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilities in private client matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex legal concepts
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach, with an emphasis on client service
  • Ability to work independently, proactively addressing client needs and offering creative solutions
  • Member in good standing with the Florida State Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida (Florida Bar membership required)

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, trust administration, and tax law
  • Proven experience with business succession and asset protection strategies
  • Ability to manage sophisticated estate and trust matters, including in and out of the court system
  • Proficiency in client relationship management and communication
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a focus on innovative legal solutions
