A law firm seeks an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join its team in Edison, New Jersey. The firm specializes in representing clients across a variety of personal injury cases, including auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents. This role offers an opportunity to serve as an advocate for clients, working closely with a dedicated team of paralegals and legal assistants. Duties:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • Develop case strategies to achieve cost-effective and favorable resolutions.
  • Draft and review discovery documents and legal filings, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Conduct depositions, oral hearings, and examinations of witnesses and experts.
  • Oversee the preparation of case briefs in collaboration with paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of court appearances, hearings, and conferences as required by case demands.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and handle property damage claims.
  • Supervise a team of two paralegals, providing guidance and ensuring quality control.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law.
  • Active license to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Proven ability to manage a large caseload (approximately 150 cases).
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with insurance carriers.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Willingness to travel to court as needed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed member of the New Jersey Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal case management systems (e.g., Smart Advocate).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
