A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking a Mid-level Oil, Gas and Resources Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, ideally including class and mass actions, with a strong preference for energy-related matters. The role will involve handling complex litigation matters within the oil and gas industry, including disputes such as royalty disputes, working interest owner disputes, and property ownership disputes. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys, providing excellent client service while assuming increasing levels of responsibility and client contact.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle a diverse caseload of complex litigation matters related to the oil and gas industry.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, conducting document reviews, and preparing for and defending depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Attend court hearings and proceedings as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to or eligibility for admission to the Texas State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in commercial litigation, with exposure to energy-related matters preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality client service and a strong work ethic.
