Attorney needed for Brentwood office

Location:

• Brentwood, Tennessee

Duties:

• Litigate general liability and workers' compensation cases through all phases, including hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and communicate effectively with claims representatives.
• Market to existing and potential clients.
• Gather medical evidence and records, and take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts, and other relevant parties.
• Conduct legal research and perform discovery.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
• Stay current with legal developments in general liability and workers' compensation law.
• Assist with the investigation of accidents and potential problem areas.
• Monitor and manage workers' compensation costs to reduce liability.
• Compile and submit required reports to management.
• Coordinate and attend claims reviews.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of the insurance company.
• Handle other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Tennessee.
• Passing the bar in another Midwest state is a plus.
• Proven experience in defending general liability and workers' compensation cases.
• Strong working knowledge of legal principles, practices, and terminology.
• In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to workers' compensation and general liability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word; experience with Time Matters legal software is preferred.
• Ability to maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Tennessee.
• Additional bar certifications in other states are a plus.

• Ability to work effectively with clients and claims representatives.
