A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate should possess big firm experience, a strong academic background, superior drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to take on significant project responsibility in a fast-paced environment. They should be diligent, detail-oriented, proactive, supportive, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Admission to the Illinois Bar is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Negotiate and draft various real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, and development agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and prepare related memoranda.
  • Assist with real estate closings and oversee the closing process.
  • Advise clients on real estate development projects, including public-private partnerships.
  • Provide legal support and advice on joint ventures and other real estate investment structures.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues related to real estate transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar is preferred; admission to the Texas Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity may be considered.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, real estate finance, joint ventures, and development.
  • Experience with public-private partnership projects is advantageous.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Certifications and Skills:

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (preferred) or eligibility for admission to the Texas Bar.
  • Experience in commercial real estate transactions, including financing and development.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate documents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and client service.
