General Liability (Maritime) Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group, specifically in the Maritime sector. This position is available across multiple Florida locations and requires candidates with a strong background in relevant practice areas, along with exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.

Location:

• Fort Myers, FL

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims
• Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, and pleadings
• Meet the annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate on expert witness retention
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Some travel may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General Liability and Maritime law
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in Florida; additional states a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong research and communication abilities
• Excellent work ethic and self-management skills
• Prompt response to emails and phone inquiries
• Exceptional client interaction skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active law license in Florida
