 A law firm in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 1 year of litigation or collections experience. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to immediately litigate collections matters, participate in discovery, conduct trials, and demonstrate their ability to meet performance expectations. This role requires strong interpersonal and analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and a high degree of professionalism.

Duties:

  • Litigate collections matters from initiation through resolution.
  • Participate in discovery and conduct trials.
  • Provide comprehensive review of all conditions precedent to filing of actions, including documents, financials, notices, and demand letters.
  • Draft and review pleadings and correspondence to initiate actions.
  • Ensure all internal systems are updated with findings, documentation, and recommendations.
  • Safeguard compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements.
  • Handle contested matters, including discovery and trials.
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Maintain communication with clients and opposing counsel through verbal and written electronic correspondence.
  • Analyze corrective action opportunities and present recommendations.
  • Demonstrate meticulous analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Bar membership in the State of Georgia. Additional state bar memberships are a plus.
  • 1+ years of litigation or collections experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written electronic correspondence.

Skills:

  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Experience in negotiating and litigating cases is preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal administrative processes and procedures.
