A law firm in Atlanta, GA is currently seeking a Patent Agent with expertise in Intellectual Property. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the firm's legal team.

Job Overview:

The Patent Agent will be responsible for handling various aspects of patent-related activities, with a focus on drafting and patent prosecution. The role requires a strong chemistry background, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to contribute to the firm's success in the field of Intellectual Property.

Duties:

• Drafting patent applications and prosecuting patents before the USPTO.
• Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Collaborating with inventors and attorneys to gather necessary information for patent filings.
• Providing technical expertise in the evaluation of inventions and existing patents.
• Staying updated on changes in patent laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong chemistry background.
• Membership in the USPTO.
• Advanced degrees and/or work experience prior to the agency exam are strongly preferred.
