A law firm seeks a qualified Associate Attorney to join its practice in Independence, OH, supporting its Missouri operations. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in creditors' rights and litigation, looking to thrive in a collaborative and community-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Manage a significant caseload within the field of creditors' rights, ensuring effective and timely case handling.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions, for various litigation processes.
  • Engage in discovery practice, conduct depositions, and resolve conflicts as they arise.
  • Appear in court to represent clients and advocate on their behalf.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop strategies that enhance the firm's reputation and client relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the legal community to establish trust and reliability among clients and colleagues.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code, to provide informed legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Missouri State Bar; must be licensed in the Missouri federal district and bankruptcy courts or able to obtain such licensure quickly.
  • Preference for candidates with 5+ years of litigation experience, although applications from newly licensed attorneys are welcome.
  • Familiarity with the Missouri legal system and a commitment to providing superior client support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing legal challenges.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar is required.
  • Additional Bar licenses in other jurisdictions are a plus.
