A law firm seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Real Estate Associate to join its Chicago office. Duties:

  • Represent clients in high-stakes real estate transactions, including negotiations, purchase and sale agreements, development deals, financing arrangements, and leases.
  • Draft and review a variety of legal documents associated with real estate deals, such as construction agreements, financing documentation, and zoning approval documents.
  • Manage client relationships by providing timely and strategic legal advice while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Handle complex real estate issues, offering practical, innovative, and efficient solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership and take initiative in managing multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and collaborate with teams across different practice areas to deliver integrated services.
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and build long-term client relationships.
  • Continuously improve legal expertise and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in real estate law, specifically handling transactions.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while working under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Illinois Bar admission (or eligibility for admission by waiver).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois, or ability to gain admission to the Illinois Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of real estate law, including financing, development, acquisition, and leasing.
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and transactional skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
  • Proficiency in handling fast-paced projects with efficiency and precision.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development and client relations.
