A law firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a motivated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases, manage legal assistants, and provide strong advocacy and legal support to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with legal assistants to oversee approximately 150 workers' compensation cases.
  • Draft and negotiate demands, responses to discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions of clients, witnesses, and medical experts.
  • Represent clients at court hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case status and developments.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations in workers' compensation cases.
  • Supervise and mentor legal assistants to ensure efficient case management and client service.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience practicing workers' compensation law.
  • Strong research skills and ability to analyze legal issues.
  • Excellent writing skills with strong academic credentials.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in supervising legal support staff.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation laws and procedures.
