A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Post-Conviction Relief Attorney to join their dynamic legal team in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain substantial experience in both criminal and immigration law while collaborating with a talented team of attorneys and legal assistants. Duties

  • Advise clients on legal rights and draft necessary legal documents.

  • Handle post-conviction relief cases, including:

    • Motions to vacate.

    • Expungements.

    • Motions to reduce charges.

    • Early termination of probation.

  • Represent clients in court for motion hearings and advise them on strategies following hearings.

  • Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing.

  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare for court appearances.

  • Provide legal analysis to clients to identify potential benefits or outcomes in their cases.

  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to strategize and support case management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in criminal defense or immigration law.

  • Expertise in handling criminal cases at the state and local levels.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
