The selected candidate will handle a robust caseload, lead client interactions, and work closely with a collaborative team of attorneys and legal assistants, reporting directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney.

Duties:

• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, ensuring they understand their legal rights and options.
• Draft and manage case-related legal documents and briefs.
• Represent clients in pretrial hearings and advise on strategies following each hearing.
• Conduct court appearances, trial preparations, draft motions, and perform witness interviews.
• Utilize legal precedents to assess potential case outcomes.
• Oversee and manage an active caseload efficiently.
• Deliver legal analysis and guidance on potential case benefits for clients.
• Gather additional evidence to bolster clients’ cases or counter prosecution claims.
• Prepare clients for depositions, outline key case goals, and coordinate with witnesses and experts.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4-5 years of criminal defense experience.
• Proven ability to handle complex criminal cases across federal, state, and local courts.
• Strong teamwork skills, with a willingness to support and collaborate with fellow associates.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Advanced analytical skills for assessing case strategies and probable outcomes.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and court schedules effectively.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with clients and maintain a client-centered approach.
