Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Partner/Of Counsel to join its General Liability Litigation group in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will possess exceptional litigation, research, and writing skills, with a strong background in civil litigation. Location:

  • Atlanta, GA

Duties:

  • Review files and conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Meet the annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of civil litigation experience, with an emphasis on insurance defense and/or transportation.
  • Experience handling civil cases from inception to resolution.
  • Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions.
  • Experience in drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings, and trials.
  • Experience in negotiations and mediations.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Georgia (other state admissions are a plus but not required).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong client relations and professional demeanor.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in the state of Georgia (other state certifications a plus).

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing and research abilities.
  • Strong litigation skills, including trial preparation and court appearances.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team and manage workloads independently.
