Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its legal team in Lakewood, Colorado. This position focuses on Elder Law, Estate and Trust Administration, Guardianships, and Conservatorships. The attorney will support senior partners while also managing their own caseload. The ideal candidate will have a passion for advocacy, strong litigation skills, and a commitment to serving clients in these areas of law.

Duties:

  • Case Management: Handle contested and uncontested litigation matters, including Guardianships, Conservatorships, and Estate/Trust disputes.
  • Legal Research & Drafting: Conduct thorough legal analysis and draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions.
  • Client Interaction: Meet with clients to assess needs, provide legal counsel, and maintain communication throughout the case.
  • Court Representation: Prepare for and represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaboration & Training: Work closely with senior attorneys and receive hands-on mentorship to refine litigation and transactional legal skills.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in legal outreach programs, including Senior Law Days, to educate the public on Elder Law and Estate Planning.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience practicing law.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Colorado Courts E-Filing, Judicial Department Forms, and Clio (preferred).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Colorado.
