Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly skilled Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Litigation Group. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote or hybrid work. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling high-stakes employment and commercial litigation matters. The role requires a strong ability to manage complex cases from start to finish while mentoring junior attorneys and supporting staff.

Duties:

  • Led and managed employment and commercial litigation cases, overseeing all phases from initiation to final resolution.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff, guiding case management and legal strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored litigation strategies.
  • Conducted legal research and drafted motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment and/or commercial litigation.
  • Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong case management and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing litigation strategies and providing legal counsel.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive in.

Skills:

  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
